General information about Saudi law — not advice on your situation.

Tell us in a few lines who you are, what your matter is about and where you are now.

Why does the firm run a separate website for foreign clients?

Because foreign clients need different information. The firm’s Arabic-language website is written for readers in Saudi Arabia. This website explains Saudi legal processes in plain English, for companies, investors and individuals outside the Kingdom.

Both websites belong to one firm, with one licence. Saudi Law is the name of this website, not of a separate company. When you contact us here, you deal with RAED ALI ALJOHANI COMPANY FOR Lawyership and Legal Consultations directly.

This is also why our emails end in @raedlawyer.com, the address of the firm’s Arabic-language website. The contact page lists our only official channels.

Who works on your matter?

Your matter is handled by a licensed Saudi lawyer. Raed AlJuhani, our Founding Managing Partner, is a licensed Saudi lawyer. You can read more about Raed AlJuhani, including how to check his licence.

Before any work starts, we sign an engagement letter with you. This is the written contract that sets out the work, the fees and who does it. So you know in writing who acts for you before you commit to anything.

How does the firm work with partner firms?

We are your lawyer from start to finish. For some government registrations, we coordinate licensed partner offices, and you deal with us at every stage. Our page on how we work with partner firms and your own lawyers explains this.

If you already have lawyers or advisers in your own country, we can work alongside them on the Saudi side of your matter. See working with foreign law firms, insurers and advisers.

Where does the firm act?

Across Saudi Arabia. For clients abroad, we work online and by phone, and in person when needed. The firm is based in Saudi Arabia, and its head-office address is under legal details on the contact page.

Much of the work can usually be done without you travelling to Saudi Arabia. You sign a power of attorney in your own country. This is a signed document that lets a lawyer act for you. Once it is certified for use in Saudi Arabia, we can act for you there. If a step needs you, or someone you appoint, in person, we tell you when we agree on the work.

For the details, see power of attorney for Saudi Arabia, signed abroad and handling a Saudi legal matter from outside the Kingdom.

Which languages does the firm work in?

Arabic and English. Court work in Saudi Arabia is done in Arabic. We can explain each step of your matter to you in English.

Some pages of this website may later appear in other languages. That does not mean we can work with you in those languages. In your first message, tell us which language you prefer. Our page on how we work with clients outside Saudi Arabia covers languages, translations and time zones.

How is this Saudi law firm regulated?

RAED ALI ALJOHANI COMPANY FOR Lawyership and Legal Consultations is licensed by the Ministry of Justice under licence number 4471. Its Unified number and commercial registration (CR) number are both 7054038307. Its registration number with the Saudi Bar Association is SBA00015608. Two official texts set the main rules for lawyers in Saudi Arabia: the Law of Legal Practice and the Rules of Professional Conduct for Lawyers. We follow both, and we advise on Saudi law only.

The Saudi Bar Association (SBA) is the professional body for lawyers in Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia, lawyers practise through a licensed legal establishment, such as a law firm.

The Ministry of Justice publishes both texts in Arabic on its legal portal. They are linked under Official sources.

These rules cover how lawyers deal with their clients. For example, lawyers must keep their clients’ information confidential. They must not promise results they do not control. Because of confidentiality, this website names no clients and shows no case results.

You can check us yourself. The Saudi Bar Association’s Lawyers Index is a public list of licensed lawyers and law firms. Our page on Company details shows our licence details and the official routes to check them. To check any other lawyer, see how to check a Saudi lawyer’s licence from anywhere.

What doesn’t the firm do?

There are four things we never do, whatever the matter:

  • Advise on the law of other countries.
  • Promise results.
  • Ask for documents before we agree to take on your matter.
  • Take payment on this website.

Fees are agreed in writing and paid to us directly. Nothing is ever paid on this website. If someone says they are from the firm and asks for documents or money another way, check with us first. Our legal notice explains how to tell that a message really comes from the firm.
